I’m currently based in London, and completing a PhD at the University of Manchester, where I also teach. At its broadest, my work is an attempt to build a cultural history of working-class femininity in contemporary Britain, with a particular focus on the experimental. I am represented by Kat Aitken at Lexington Literary.
More generally, I write widely on class, gender, and popular culture. I’ve written for publications such as the Financial Times, New Statesman, and Tribune, amongst others. I’ve given talks and papers at institutions such as Tate Britain, the Whitworth Gallery, and Studio Voltaire. I also write a substack, which you can subscribe to for free here.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Homerton College, Cambridge and an MSt at Hertford College, Oxford, which was fully funded by the Oxford English faculty. I am now fully funded by a President’s Doctoral Scholarship.
When I’m not reading and writing, I present a podcast called Writing Class for the Contemporary Women’s Writing Association, and work with The Brilliant Club.
